35 ANNI DOPO IL DISASTRO DI CHERNOBYL – ECCO COME APPARE OGGI
L’EPICA EVACUAZIONE NOTTURNA DI PRIPYAT
La città era stata costruita per ospitare le persone che lavoravano nella centrale nucleare di Chernobyl in Ucraina. Le loro polizze assicurative per la vita e la salute erano state organizzate dalle autorità, data la pericolosità del loro lavoro, e tutte le provviste erano state fatte affinché potessero avere un soggiorno confortevole. La città era quasi delle dimensioni di una cittadina mineraria americana e il numero totale di lavoratori e delle loro famiglie che vi risiedevano era di quasi 50.000. Nonostante la città fosse considerata abbastanza piccola, Pripyat aveva un ospedale, quindici scuole, tre piscine coperte e dieci palestre diverse. Tutte sono state abbandonate al momento del disastro.
