ERA UNA BELLA CITTÀ
La piazza principale di Pripyat è ancora presente, ed è lì che si percepisce maggiormente l’esito del disastro. In passato, era la location dell’Hotel Polissya. Attualmente, il luogo è coperto da una fitta vegetazione di alberi, arbusti e altre piante che crescono incontrollate e nessuno osa davvero intraprendere un’azione costruttiva al più presto. Era un’area in cui i fiori sbocciavano in abbondanza. Pripyat era conosciuta per avere una popolazione di circa 49.400 persone. L’età media della popolazione era di 26 anni, con la maggior parte di loro che aveva completato con successo i loro programmi universitari.
