The Environment Took A Huge Hit

The radiation was enough to pose a threat to the entire environment as a number of trees in the surroundings of Chernobyl died almost immediately after the explosion. One bunch of pine trees near reactor four turned reddish-brown in color instantly and were thus given the name ‘Red Forest’. The trees were automatically cut down to prevent the other trees nearby from getting affected. In recent times, the fauna in and around Chernobyl have less growth as compared to other trees. Such devastation is hard to be forgotten and the environment is paying the price as trees, like human beings, do not have insurance policies to fall back upon.
