Sono Osato – 1919
Sono Osato is a noted dancer of European and Japanese descent. She started her career at the tender age of 14. She started with Ballets Russe De Monte Carlo, and later danced for the American Ballet Theater. Her career took her to Broadway as well — being a lead dancer in One Touch of Venus, and more; she dabbled in acting and appeared in the film The Kissing Bandit and the TV series The Adventures of Ellery Queen. She started a scholarship program in her own name to help dancers in the USA get financial help as they struggle to get a foothold in the entertainment industry. We hope she remains in good health for years to come.
