As journalists, it is imperative to remain impartial and professional when delivering news, even if the story is gruesome or reprehensible. On the other hand, some news stories can be somewhat amusing, causing reporters to chuckle or giggle.
This was the case with Hema Mullur while she was covering the murder of Tara Grant by her husband, Stephen Grant. As she reported the incident, the then-KFOX-TV reporter couldn’t help but laugh, much to her embarrassment. Later, Mullur explained that her laughter was prompted by Grant’s unexpected mugshot, which had taken her by surprise, and not because she was being disrespectful.
