Jennifer Eve Garth nació de John y Carolyn Garth el 3 de abril de 1972 en Urbana, Illinois, en los Estados Unidos. Tanto John como Carolyn Garth ya tenían tres hijos de matrimonios anteriores cuando tuvieron a Jennie. Pasó su infancia en un rancho de caballos en el campo a las afueras de Urbana, Illinois, junto con sus seis hermanos mayores, Johnny, Chuck, Lisa, Cammie, Wendy y Lynn. La propiedad tenía 25 acres de tamaño. Jennie llegó a Phoenix, Arizona, con su familia cuando tenía 13 años. Phoenix se encuentra en el estado de Arizona. Durante su estadía en Arizona, persiguió su pasión por la danza inscribiéndose en clases y también trabajó como modelo.
