Der bürgerliche Name des in Berlin geborenen Schlagersängers lautet weniger glamourös Ronald Keiler. Bereits 1974 erschien seine erste Single und inzwischen umfasst seine Fangemeinde drei Generationen. Mittlerweile hat Roland mehr als 90 Millionen Tonträger verkauft und im Laufe seiner langen Karriere unzählige Auszeichnungen in Gold und Platin erhalten.
Doch nur wenige Menschen wissen, welchen steinigen Weg der Berliner gehen musste, um erfolgreich zu werden. Bereits mit 15 Jahren wurde er zum Vollwaisen. Nach der Schulausbildung erlernte er den Beruf des Automobilkaufmanns, später arbeitete er in der Werbeabteilung des Autohauses. Anfang der 70er war er als Telegrammbote unterwegs, und um sich ein wenig Geld dazu verdienen zu können, trat er als Schlagersänger auf Hochzeiten auf.
1980 veröffentlichte er seine bis heute erfolgreichste Single Santa Maria, welche insgesamt schon 1,2 Millionen Mal verkauft wurde. Heute wird das Vermögen des freifachen Familienvaters auf 50 Millionen Euro geschätzt. Nicht schlecht, oder?
