Queen
Queen is a British rock band formed in London in 1970. The band had Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon on board. Their earliest works were heavily influenced by progressive rock, hard rock, and heavy metal, but the band diverted into a more conventional and radio-friendly work by incorporating many more styles, such as arena rock and pop rock.
After the death of Freddie Mercury in 1991, Queen’s remaining members included Brian May and Roger Taylor who toured with vocalists Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert. Of course, nobody could replace Freddie Mercury, but Lambert has impressed fans and critics alike for embracing his role instead of replacing the original frontman. Lambert’s first American Idol audition was with the song “Bohemian Rhapsody.”
