The Who

The Who is an English rock band formed in London in 1964. Their classic lineup includes Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon. They are certainly one of the most influential rock bands of the 20th century and have sold over 100 million records worldwide. Their contributions to rock music are far and many including Marshall Stack, large PA systems, the use of the synthesizer, Entwistle and Moon’s influential playing styles, and more. No wonder The Who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.

The British rocker’s 1960s, most successful gig turned out to be the 1970 Valentine’s Day show at the University of Leeds before a crowd of 2,000 fans, the band played a large number of songs, 38 songs to be exact including a version of “My Generation” that lasted for almost 15 minutes.
