Being a quarterback for the Carolina Panthers pays well, and Cam Newton uses the money he’s making to support his family and to have a bit of fun. He’s thrown hundreds of thousands of dollars, for example, to customize a vintage 1970 Oldsmobile 442 Cutlass. He’s had 24k gold plating fitted, renovated the interior with diamond stitching, and decorated the front grille with the Panther’s logo. Some may call it tacky; others would call it swanky. Let’s say it is unique, and one of its kind – maybe that’s what Cam Newton wanted it to be, an investment worthy of his status. The makeover cost him a staggering $45000. Well, that’s what we expect from a man who has never been much subtle. The guys at Monster Customs in Atlanta did a stupendous job. You can have all the Ferraris and Mercedes you want but a vintage customized car is something else.
