Apesar de ter começado sua carreira com apenas 11 anos de idade, a primeira grande chance de Nancy Mckeon foi com o programa de Tv “The Facts of Life” e foi a sua personagem “Jo Polniaczek” que recebeu a maior parte do estrelato na imprensa. A atriz participou de vários programas de TV e alguns filmes, construindo uma boa poupança de dinheiro e parece não se preocupar com suas finanças.
