Sean Lock, un comediante británico mejor conocido por sus rutinas de stand-up, su papel protagónico en la serie de culto 15 Storeys High y su larga permanencia como panelista en la serie de la BBC 8 Out of 10 Cats y 8 Out of Cats Does Countdown, falleció el 16 de agosto de 2021, después de una batalla contra el cáncer de pulmón. Más tarde se reveló que a Lock le habían diagnosticado la enfermedad varios años antes de su muerte.
Este comediante con anteojos, vestido y bien arreglado siempre hacía un espectáculo con entradas agotadas y era conocido por el tipo de humor observador e inexpresivo que definiría la comedia británica durante años. Resumió su estilo de comedia con las palabras: “Cuando se trata de eso, la comedia es solo gemidos ensayados”.
