Sie ist die Schwester des Gründers von Versace, Gianni Versace, und sie hat eng mit ihm zusammengearbeitet, um das Unternehmen und seine charakteristische Mischung aus italienischer High Fashion und Promi-Kultur zu etablieren. Nach dem frühen Tod von Gianni im Jahr 1997 übernahm sie die Kreativdirektorin der von ihr geerbten Marke Versace. Derzeit ist sie für alle kreativen Initiativen des Unternehmens verantwortlich.
