Les appareils qui apparaissent sur cette photo ne sont pas a priori des plus familiers pour le grand public. Ceux qui ont survécu au processus de nettoyage du site de Tchernobyl dans les années 80 les connaissent cependant assez bien sachant qu’il s’agit des dosimètres qu’ils ont utilisés à l’époque.
Un dosimètre sert à mesurer la dose radioactive qu’une personne peut subir si elle est amenée à explorer une zone avec un risque d’irradiation. Les touristes utilisent le même outil lors d’une visite Tchernobyl, mais les modèles en question sont bien plus avancés par rapport à ceux de cette photo.
