Bigger Than The White House: Check Out The Cars & Houses Of The Most Important Politicians in U.S. History
William Henry Harrison – Price Undetermined, Grouseland, Vincennes, Indiana
Grouseland is said to be Harrison’s colonial home which was built in 1804 when he was serving as the Indiana governor. Often hailed as the ‘White House of the West’, it is believed that Harrison constructed this large mansion because he wanted people to respect him as a governor.
The Grouseland estate, that has the Georgian architecture as its USP, covered an area of 300 acres, and features the walnut tree grove where William Harrison had with Tecumseh, the Indian chief, in 1811. The investment did pay off for him, we believe.
It truly does look lavish, and while we don’t have details of its exact price, the White House of the West is truly a wonder and a sight for sore eyes!
