Herbert Hoover – $88K, 1932 Cadillac 452-B V-16 Imperial Limousine

Herbert Hoover was elected as the President of the United States when the Great Depression hit the country. In the last year of his tenure, he owned a 1932 Cadillac 452-B V-16 Imperial limousine.

Hoover had it done for himself but sold it to his friend, Gordon Hickman Garland. Bonhams sold it off at a price tag of $88K in 2007. Hoover’s policies as the Secretary of Commerce led to the formation of a greater business community in the 20s and eventually led the banks to a greater profit.

He left office in 1933, and he and his wife moved to Palo Alto until her death, which prompted him to permanently reside in New York. He tried his hand at running for president in the succeeding elections but he failed. The nomination instead was given to Alf Landon.
