Richard Nixon served as the 37th president of the USA and the first to resign from the post. He enrolled for a college program in law in Duke University and started practicing law in California.

The important happening during his tenure was the end of the Vietnam War and the return of the Prisoner of Wars. He also established diplomatic relations between the USA and China. It was during his reign that Apollo 11 landed on Moon and the beginning of the peace process in the Middle East.

However, the Watergate Scandal tarnished his image and he resigned. Before that, he used to go around in his Oldsmobile. Experts believe he wanted the common people to understand that he was just like them. After retirement, he wrote books and made several trips in order to restore his image, but people mostly remember his presidency as one that was controversial.
