Theodore Roosevelt – $3.2 Million, Sagamore Hill, Cove Neck, New York

Sagamore Hill, often hailed as the “summer White House”, was the abode of Theodore Roosevelt. The $17K-estate was spread across an area of 14,174 square feet in 1884.

Architects from Lamb and Rich built this property with some contributions from the president and his first wife. Large verandas and a huge porte-cochère adorn the exteriors, while Roosevelt’s trophies from his hunting decorate the interiors.

Banking on his huge fortunes, Roosevelt erected this magnificent property which was really a sight for sore eyes. While the interiors do look a tad outdated, it must have been quite a hit back then!
