Sweden Taking First Action

The entire Chernobyl incident happened during the Cold War period, and the information shared between the Soviet Union and the rest of the world wasn’t quite adequate. The world had no knowledge about the Chernobyl explosion until the sensors at a nuclear plant in Sweden detected high radiation levels. As soon as Sweden officials were made aware of the gravity of the situation, the government sent out an alert, and that made scientists sit up and take account of the exact location of the nuclear blast. The world mourned the death of those people who lost their lives in the mishap and prayed that their loved ones would benefit something out of their life insurance policies.
