Neil Diamond und Marcia Murphey – Angebliche Einigung über 150 Millionen Dollar
Der beliebte Sänger Neil Diamond und die Produktionsassistentin Marcia Murphey gaben sich 1969 das Jawort. Die beiden bekamen zwei gemeinsame Söhne namens Micah und Jesse. Ihr Eheglück währte jedoch nur 25 Jahre, denn die beiden reichten im Jahr 1995 die Scheidung ein. Laut Forbes musste Diamond sein 300 Millionen Dollar schweres Vermögen in zwei Hälften aufteilen und die eine Hälfte an Murphy übergeben. Neil gab sich selbst die Schuld an der Trennung und sorgte dafür, dass Marcia genug Geld erhielt, um ein bequemes Leben führen zu können. Beruflich gewesen war Neil Diamond im Laufe seiner langjährigen Musikkarriere sehr erfolgreich und häufte ein Nettovermögen von 150 Millionen Dollar auf seinem Bankkonto an.
