Dolly Parton ohne OPs?
Oder vielleicht so! Dolly würde darin umwerfend aussehen. Dolly Rebecca Parton wurde am 19. Januar 1946 in Pittman Center, Tennessee, in einer kleinen Hütte am Ufer des Little Pigeon River geboren. Ihre Eltern, Avie Lee Caroline (geb. Owens; 1923–2003) und Robert Lee Parton Sr. hatten zwölf Kinder, und Dolly war das vierte (1921–2000).
Bis 2021 waren drei von Partons Geschwistern verstorben. Rebecca (Dunn) Whitted, Partons Ururgroßmutter, gab ihr den zweiten Vornamen, den sie jetzt trägt. Dollys Vater, Lee Parton, war Teilpächter und besaß schließlich eine kleine Tabakfarm und Land in den Bergen von East Tennessee. Um das magere Einkommen der Farm aufzubessern, arbeitete er auch als Bauarbeiter.
