Aretha Franklin está no show business desde os anos 60 e até se tornou conhecida como a “rainha do soul”. Ela eventualmente ganhou muito peso e chegou a pesar 136 kg em 2011. Depois de ser diagnosticada com diabetes, ela decidiu mudar sua dieta e começar a se exercitar regularmente. Ela conseguiu perder cerca de 38 quilos, e agora parece melhor e muito mais saudável.
