Ronald Earle Glass ganhou destaque através de seus papéis como Det. Ron Harris em Barney Miller, uma sitcom popular na televisão, e Derrial Book na série de ficção científica, Firefly. Além disso, Glass fez aparições em várias séries de TV como Teen Angel, Family Matters, Star Trek: Voyager e Serenity. Parecia que Ron estava pronto para ter uma longa e ilustre vida pela frente, mas isso não era para ser e ele faleceu em 25 de novembro de 2016, devido a problemas respiratórios.
