A lo largo de la década de 1990, Uma Thurman mantuvo una posición constante como una de las actrices con mayores ingresos. Tanto su interpretación de Mia Wallace en la aclamada película de Quentin Tarantino “Pulp Fiction” como su papel de Black Mamba en la película de Tarantino “Kill Bill”, que también dirigió, serán definitivamente recordados por el resto del tiempo. Ambas películas fueron dirigidas por Tarantino. Todas las personas que fueron niños en los años 90 y aún viven hoy tienen un póster de al menos una de estas películas colgado en su habitación. No hay una sola persona viva hoy que no fuera un niño durante ese período de tiempo. Uma tiene actualmente 51 años y sigue la fe budista. Su lealtad es a la fe budista en términos de su práctica religiosa.
