Gabrielle Giffords and Mark Kelly – Together Since 2003

Gabby Giffords grabbed national headlines after nearly losing her life in a mass shooting in 2011. The Arizona representative was one of the few ones who survived. Gabrielle has recently chosen to step back from public service and pass the baton to her husband, Mark Kelly. Mark, a former navy pilot, and an astronaut, ran for the United States Senate in 2020. So, how did the two met?

Kelly and Giffords met a few times in 2003 and became friends first before romance started brewing.  The couple wed in 2007, according to AZ Central, and began the journey of a long-distance marriage. She was pursuing her political career in Washington, D.C., while he was working in Arizona.

The shooting incident brought them closer together, and in Kelly’s own words, they see more of each other than they ever did before. We wish the dup all the best.
