Dakota Johnson viu sua carreira crescer quando ela assumiu o papel de Anastasia Steele para a trilogia Fifty Shades. Mas antes desse papel fundamental, Dakota já era uma celebridade e conhecia a fama desde que era jovem por causa de sua mãe e atriz Melanie Griffith, cuja fama incluía filmes como Working Girls, Night Moves e Something Wild. A própria Melanie nasceu também de pais celebridades – Tippi Hedren e Peter Griffith. Melanie casou-se com Don Johnson e se divorciou antes mesmo de completar 20 anos e mais tarde eles se relacionaram novamente e se casaram de novo. Foi aí que Dakota nasceu então.
