Teen heartthrob Phoebe Cates began her career across the camera as a model and soon transitioned into films. She rose to prominence with her bold scenes in Paradiseand with Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Cates became a teen icon and achieved pin-up star status. She later starred in Gremlinsbut soon faded out of the limelight. The actress has been married to Kevin Kline and seems to have a comfortable life; perhaps she had taken out an insurance policy that helped her during times of need?
