Calvin Johnson – $12.5 Million
Calvin Johnson is a former NFL wide receiver for the Detroit Lions between 2007 and 2015. Johnson was honored by being selected six times for the Pro Bowl and has seen several more honors like the First-Team All-Pro three times and the Second-Team All-Pro.
Johnson’s contract is a hefty one amounting to $132 million, and it was signed with the Lions back in 2012, yet it remains to be one of the NFL’s most expensive deals yet. Johnson is known by the nickname, Megatron, which is sparked by the character of the same name in the film Transformers. The nickname describes his strength, speed, and leaping ability. His bank account has seen $85 million and will be seeing many more (even though he is in retirement) – thanks to several other income streams!
