Former NBA Players Who Surprised Everyone With Their Choice of Jobs After Retirement

Michael Ray Richardson – Substitute Teacher And Youth Camp Helper

Michael Sugar Ray Richardson was the king of the NBA court for 24 long years. However, as luck would have it, the commissioner granted him a lifelong ban in 1986. After that, he sought fresher and greener pastures and even played for some time in Europe.

He hung up his boots in 2002 and began taking up coaching for a few years. However, he was most successful as a substitute teacher. He is in his fifties too and finds sustenance and peace as he works as a teacher in Oklahoma. He also believes in helping the youth, especially underprivileged youngsters, and helping them find their way.

That’s a pretty noble way of utilizing your talent. Michael is giving back to society in his usual inimitable way. Also, if it helps him earn money on the way to having a secure retired life, then why not.
