In the movie, Lieutenant Dan joins Forrest in the shrimping business after he loses his legs. As the shrimping duo make it big in the industry, so did their bank accounts. This then prompted them to make investments in what Forrest funnily called a fruit company but was in fact, Apple Computers. Guess they made the right choice as they didn’t need any more loans to buy more shrimping boats for their business!
