Come to think of it, it’s hard to imagine someone else playing Forrest Gump aside from Tom Hanks, no? Surprisingly, he wasn’t the first actor to be considered for the role! According to Internet sources, Bill Murray, John Travolta, and Chevy Chase were approached to play the role. Unfortunately for them (and luckily for Tom), they refused and Hanks went on to play one the most iconic roles of his career and even helped him transition from comic roles to dramatic ones.
