Like the Sony Walkman and Winamp, the streaming service Spotify shall always be known as a trendsetter in the music technology industry. Its founder, Daniel Ek, is a Swedish billionaire who also serves as the music streaming platform’s CEO. He first got the idea of the novel software from previously used peer-to-peer services such as Kazaa.
Ek is married to writer and journalist Sofia Levander. They had been dating for many years before they made things official in a star-studded ceremony with the likes of Mark Zuckerberg, Chris Rock, and Bruno Mars in attendance. The couple has two daughters, both born before their wedding in 2016.
