Herman Wouk — 1915

Herman Wouk is an American author of Russian Jewish bloodline. His childhood was spent humbly as his family struggled to make ends to meet. His father eventually had a successful laundry business. Judaism was an integral part of his childhood, and the influences can be seen in his work. Some of his best books are the 1951 Pulitzer Prize winner The Caine Mutiny, The Winds Of War, War And Remembrance, and This Is My God. His last book was released when he was 100 years old in 2016. He had settled down in Palm Springs, California before his wife passed away in 2011. We believe that is where the author is spending his retirement days now with his dog which underwent a surgery recently!
