Conrad Janis, a jazz trombonist was born to parents who were both writers, but instead of following his parents’ footsteps, he decided to try his luck in acting. After debuting with a romantic drama in 1946, Janis leveled up his film career by appearing in The Brasher Doubloon, which also starred Hollywood legend George Montgomery. The film received critical acclaim and also climbed the box office rankings, and a new star was born. Conrad later dabbled in acting for television projects and added many successful TV shows to his kitty, including Mork & Mindy and The Buddy Holly Story.
