The Canadian-American comedian, actor, filmmaker, and musician rose to fame with his stint in Saturday Night Live. His performance in the 1984 film, Ghostbusters made him rise up the popularity charts.
Dan’s work in Driving Miss Daisy, the 1989 film, earned him an Academy Award nomination in the Best Supporting Actor category. He also starred in Soul Man, his own sitcom from 1997 to 1998. The wealth he has amassed throughout the course of his career would surely prove to be enough for him even after he retires, if he chooses to do so.
He has often been in the news owing to his claim that his former house was supposedly haunted. Dan and his better half, Donna Nixon, had been witnesses to several unusual activities that didn’t have any rational explanation. The 4,828 square foot property has 5 and a half baths, 5 bedrooms, a master bedroom, a library, and a pool. Though Aykroyd kept the price of the residence at something around $4.2 million, actress Beverly D’Angelo bought it for an estimated $3.8 million.
