Michael Stipe & Thomas Dozol

R.E.M.‘s Michael Stipe feels he has become a better person after coming out; perhaps, not having to hide his real self was a big sigh of relief. In 2014, he was seen wearing a wedding band and rumors made rounds that he was married to his boyfriend Thomas Dozol, who happens to be an artist.

They have been in a relationship for about 8 years now, and we wouldn’t be surprised if that were true. While the LGBT community still continue to struggle to find their voices, love still wins and society has been more accepting of them than in the last few decades. This is something that has brought joy to Stipe, and he hopes that in the next few years, people will find the orientation of the LGBT community the new normal and accept them with open arms.
