Mitch McConnell and Elaine Lan Chao – Together Since 1993
Mitch McConnell, the US Senate Majority Leader, met Elaine Chao (the then Secretary of Transportation) through a mutual friend in the early 1990s. They tied the knot on Ronald Reagan’s birthday. Together, they are one of the most powerful couples in the political arena in the USA.
Mitch McConnell, is the US Senate Majority Leader. He hailed from Alabama and Kentucky and became a senator for Kentucky in 1985. Elaine Chao was the US Secretary of Transportation previously served as US Secretary of Labor for eight years.
The duo met through a mutual friend, Stuart Bloch and Julia Chang Bloch, in the 1990s in early Washington DC, and the rest, as they say, is history. The couple complements each other personally and professionally, and the secret to their amazing marriage is both of them having each other’s back.
