Tobi Lütke is the founder and chief executive of Shopify Inc., whose online tools and services help manage the retail businesses and help BlackBerry castoffs to include in the growing company, which had just 300 employees. Today, BlackBerry now holds the security software.

Shopify has since revved forward, and BlackBerry is regarded as Canada’s tech darling and is said to have more than 1.7 million retail businesses in around 175 countries, with controls things like orders, shipping, payments, and marketing.

Tobias Lutke built the e-commerce software himself. In today’s times, the platform has taken over all of e-commerce. More than 500,000 merchants use it today. Tobias Lutke boasts of a whopping net worth of $8.69 billion CAN ($6.9 billion US).
