Chip Wilson – $7.05 billion CAN ($5.6 billion US)

Canadian business magnate Dennis “Chip” Wilson is the founder and erstwhile CEO of yoga-inspired apparel company Lululemon Athletica Inc.Wilson made a great amount of money selling luxury workout wear. He began his outerwear company Westbeach Snowboard, the first retail apparel company, where he sold products catering to outdoor activities such as surf, skate, and snowboard markets. After selling the company in 1997 he founded Lululemon a year after.

Chip Wilson had the first opened Lululemon store in 2000 in Vancouver and sold a 48% minority stake in the company to private equity firms. (Advent International and Highland Capital Partners). Although he is no longer associated with the management role anymore in Lululemon, he remains its biggest individual shareholder.

Wilson, his wife, and five sons now own a company called Hold It All, which invests in things clothing, real estate, and private equity. Chip Wilson’s net worth is estimated to be around $7.05 billion CAN ($5.6 billion US).
