Darko Milicic – Apple Grower

There was a time when Darko Milicic was said to be the next big thing. He has drafted just one pick behind LeBron James and ahead of two other greats, Dwayne Wade and Carmelo Anthony. However, he did not live up to the initial hype and left his career in 2012 while he was playing for the Boston Celtics with career averages boasting six points and four rebounds per game. He was the poster guy who made his debut with fanfare but his career fizzled out soon after.

After retirement, he has settled for a peaceful life in Serbia, where he cultivates apples. He used to be a kickboxer before finally settling for a quiet and unassuming lifestyle.

Kickboxing didn’t turn out to be the right profession for the large guy, who found his haven in the 125-acre property. He finally seemed to find his calling.
