La premiada comediante, actriz y escritora estadounidense Wanda Sykes es una de las humoristas más reconocidas del mundo y cuenta con una extensa trayectoria dentro del panorama mediático. Esta exitosa mujer pertenece al colectivo LGBT y no teme mostrar su vida amorosa al público. Fue en 2008 que decidió confesarlo públicamente.
No ha sido casualidad el momento de dicho anuncio: ese mismo año contrajo matrimonio con su esposa Alex Sykes. Ella es madre de dos hijos y anteriormente había estado casada con un hombre llamado Dave Hall. Wanda es una gran defensora de las mujeres afroamericanas y es miembro de Alpha Kappa Alpha.
