Eddie Van Halen – Alcohol and Drug Abuse
Even the brightest stars are often dimmed and perhaps the same can be said for musician Eddie Van Halen. Van Halen struggled with alcohol and drug abuse for over twenty years with sober phases in between, and this has not just impacted his career but also his marriage. His marriage to Valerie Bertinelli ended in a divorce in 2007. Apart from his frequent trips to and from rehab, Van Halen has also undergone surgery several times – from hip replacement to accidental injuries to ailments. Sadly, the musician also had to deal with oral cancer, though we hope his financial planning advisor was able to sort his health insurance in time. In spite of his personal battles, Van Halen continues making an investment in music and is active on the stage, too.
