Cantinflas estuvo casado por más de treinta años con Valentina Ivanova, a quien conoció cuando él todavía hacía teatro de carpa y no había grabado nada aun.=
Ivanova era una bailarina rusa que había emigrado a México con toda su familia a buscar un mejor futuro.Se sabe que Mario Moreno quedó muy afectado por la muerte de su esposa y a pesar de que siempre se ha dicho que el actor era un gran mujeriego, testigos cercanos cuentan que Cantinflas pasó un proceso largo para recuperarse de la viudez.
