En ese entonces, Ford estaba todavía casado con su exesposa, Melissa Mathison, pero ya habían anunciado su separación. Ford y Calista estuvieron muchos años juntos antes de casarse en junio del 2009. Fue una boda pequeña y casual, pero con mucho amor. A pesar de existir una diferencia de 22 años, Calista ha mencionado que eso no importa y que él es perfecto para ella. Ambos adoptaron un niño cuando recién se conocieron y Calista es madrastra de los hijos de Ford con sus relaciones anteriores.
