Nueva York ha sido el lugar de nacimiento de muchas estrellas y personajes influyentes y este lugar vio nacer a Alice Playten. Esta mujer fue una mujer muy conocida en Broadway y ha actuado en obras como Sweet Henry, Hello, Rumors y tuvo apariciones en películas como Legend, I.Q., Heavy Metal, entre otras. Alice Playten falleció en Manhattan por insuficiencia cardíaca en junio del 2011. La actriz tenía 63 años y tenía muchos años de carrera por delante. Lamentablemente, la actriz había sufrido toda su vida de diabetes y un cáncer de páncreas complicó la situación y su situación se volvió insalvable. Una lástima.
