Bill De Blasio and Chirlane McCray – Together Since 1994

When New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio bid for a Democratic nomination for president earlier this year, he has also opened the possibility of introducing the country’s first second-ever Black First Lady of the United States. Currently, Chirlane McCray is the First Lady of New York City.

McCray has established her name as a writer, editor, and poet who worked for the Redbook magazine. She spent her early days in Springfield, Massachusetts. She eventually found love in Bill de Blasio in 1991, who was then working in the Dinkins administration.

McCray was then wearing West-African-inspired clothing and a nose ring and took to De Blasio, who she found funny and smart. To, De Blasio it was love at first sight. They walked down the aisle in Prospect Park, three years later. Now, the couple shares two children and living the best times together.
