Chuck Schumer and Iris Weinshall – Together Since 1980
Serving as the Senate minority leader since 2017, Chuck worked as the senior senator from New York. He’s a member of the Democratic Party and the present dean at the congressional delegation in New York. He’s 70 and has done brilliantly in different roles from time to time. He won his fourth term in 2016 in the Senate after he succeeded Harry Reid, who was on the verge of retirement.
Wife Iris is the Chief Operating Officer of The New York Public Library since she joined in July 2014. Before that, she worked as the Vice-Chancellor at the New York City University, and the former commissioner at the Department of Transportation.
The couple had their wedding in 1980 and at one of the best locations possible – ”Windows on the World” at the top of World Trade Center’snorth tower. The couple has two kids- Jessica and Alison, who have graduated from Harvard College.
