These Successful Companies Are Known For Their Bold and Striking Logos

Penguin Random House

When Penguin Group and Random House announced a merger in 2013, they fused their names and changed it into a sleek new typeface logo. However, you can still see Penguin’s logo of its animal namesake and Random House’s illustrated home, apart from the new wordmark.

It was in 1935, that a 21-year-old called Edward Young visited London Zoo. However, what made Young’s trip particularly significant is that he got a stroke of inspiration as he saw the birds.

It quickly became one of the most famous logos ever. It all started with Young’s drawing of the penguins that were used for the books company that also shares its name with the bird. The logo legacy of the flightless bird still lives on.
