These Successful Companies Are Known For Their Bold and Striking Logos

Goodyear

The Goodyear logo that you see these days dates back to a statue that was found in the home of the stately Seiberling family. The logo was a representation of the Greek God Hermes (to the Romans, the god was known as Mercury), which stood for all that Goodyear stood for.

The Greek god Mercury, a messenger who was the carrier of good news, was the inspiration for Goodyear’s logo. Founder Frank Seiberling didn’t know that the inspiration was standing right in his home.

In 1900 the company developed the logo to brand its operations, and by a stroke of inspiration, they discovered the Wingfoot symbol that would sit within the Goodyear name. That logo still remains the same as before.
