World Wildlife Fund
WWF or the World Wildlife Fund was set up in 1961. The international NGO works for wildlife preservation and aims to reduce the impact of humans on the environment. World Wildlife Fund remains the official name in the United States and Canada.
However, a new name, World Wide Fund for Nature has been coined in other parts of the globe. The largest of all conservation organizations, WWF boasts of more than five million supporters across the planet.
It operates in over 100 countries and supports 3000 environmental and conservation projects. The name of the organization was coined by Edward Max Nicholson and Sir Peter Scott designed the original panda logo, which went on to become one of the most famous logos in the world.
